Poles will spend 430 million zloty (102 million euro) on preparations for the EU presidency, as the country will take up the six-month rotating post in 2011.
The money will be spent on organizing over one hundred meetings, on security measures, promotion, administration staff training and language courses for employees of forty state offices. The government will ask private companies to support some of the projects, said EU Minister, Mikolaj Dowgielewicz.
Warsaw, Gdansk, Sopot, Krakow, Katowice, Bydgosz and Torun will host meetings and events connected with Poland’s presidency in the European Union. (mg/mmj)
