• Government to reform higher education?
  • 27.10.2009
The draft reform bill on Polish higher education is to be presented to the government today by Minister Barbara Kudrycka.

Among others, the draft introduces restrictions for lecturers, who will not be able to work at more than two universities. Spokesperson for the Education Ministry, Bartosz Loba, said that intentions are to improve the quality of higher education in Poland.

Meanwhile another proposal, that students would have to pay for a second parallel stream of study, has aroused strong protest from young academics, collecting signatures in 20 university cities against the draft. (ek/mmj)
