Six Poles returning from Ukraine have been hospitalized in the eastern region of Podkarpacie.
“Patients with flu symptoms are under observation and feel fine,” said Dorota Gibala from the local sanitary inspectorate.
Doctors suspect that some of the patients may be infected with the A/H1N1 virus. Results of medical tests will be known in two or three days.
A young Ukrainian was hospitalized in the south-east city of Lancut, four Poles, including an 11-year-old boy, have been admitted to a hospital in Przemysl, near Ukrainian border, and one Pole has been treated in a hospital in Jaroslaw.
According to Ukraine’s Health Ministry, 60 people have died from flu in Ukraine and 191,000 people are infected, including 83,000 children. Over 7,000 people are hospitalized. (mg)
