  • 17.11.2009
After two years in power, the Civic Platform-Polish Peasant’s Party coalition government, headed by PM Donald Tusk, is more appreciated by Poles than the previous cabinets.

According to an opinion poll by Gfk Polonia, as many as 40 per cent of Poles support Donald Tusk’s cabinet and want it to stay in power. Thirty-two per cent of Poles hold the opposite view.

Young people are most satisfied with the government’s performance and older people most dissatisfied. Sixty-four per cent of Poles between 18 and 19 years old express their support for the cabinet, while 40 per cent of Poles over 66 years old oppose it.

The government’s performance is viewed positively mainly in big cities (50 per cent of Poles who live in cities inhabited by 500,000 people support it) and negatively mainly in the countryside (34 per cent of Poles who live in villages are critical about Donald Tusk and his government). (mg/mmj)
