- Poles want to save the environment
- 06.12.2009
A poll conducted by the daily Gazeta Wyborcza, preceding the Monday start of the Copenhagen climate summit, shows that 74.6% of Poles are convinced that the global warming is a huge threat to the earth.
Every third Pole is certain that the phenomenon caused by man, will also harm Poland and the country's natural environment.
Over 56% of the respondents support actions combating global warming even if they are to cause a slowing of Poland's economic growth. More than 62% of those polled also appeal for the limiting of CO2 emissions by Poland, regardless of the fact that it would entail price hikes for energy and fuels. (ab/mmj)
