President Lech Kaczynski is to meet with his Estonian counterpart Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who arrives in Warsaw this afternoon.
Mariusz Handzlik, the presidential minister responsible for foreign policy, said both leaders are to discuss a whole list of vital issues.
On the agenda are matters concerning bilateral cooperation, energy security, Baltic Sea cooperation and regional development, as well as the European aspirations of Ukraine and Georgia.
Gas worries?
Kaczynski and Ilves are also to address concerns over the Nord Stream gas pipeline which is to run from Russia under the surface of the Baltic Sea directly to gas terminals in Germany, bypassing both Estonia and Poland.
Both presidents will be addressing matters regarding cooperation with Azerbaijan, which has gas infrastructure reaching to Turkey, from where the proposed Nabucco line would run to central Europe.
Lech Kaczynski will also touch on the Romanian presidential elections, relations with Russia and cooperation within NATO and EU. The Warsaw meeting takes place before the planned summit of the Baltic states scheduled for 16 December. (ab/jb)
