Cezary Atamanczuk, former Civic Platform MP, was sentenced to two years in prison for doing drugs, driving under their influence and attempt to bribe policemen.
Courts in the north-western city of Szczecin sentenced Atamanczuk to two years in prison and 10,000 zloty (2,400 euro) fine. The MP will also lose his driving licence for three years.
In autumn 2008, Cezary Atamanczuk was arrested for possessing marihuana, driving a car under the influence of the drug and trying to bribe policemen who detained him. The former MP only admitted the first accusation. As a result, he was removed from Civic Platform and dismissed from the post of councilor. (mg/mmj)
