Warsaw University of Technology is launching its own perfume.

Its dominant notes are black pepper, wood, agar and resin. The fragrance, called Entropy, has been composed by students at the University, Magdalena Bober, Agnieszka Cieslicka and Anna Liwska.

"The chancellor announced a contest for an original perfume, which would promote our university. And we won", says Magda Bober from the “perfume team”.

They worked on it in a lab for several weeks, mixing and testing various scents: tobacco, orange, black currant leaves, adding substances which make ordinary people shudder with distaste, like civet, taken from the pouch under the tails of civet cats and ambergris, produced in the digestive system of the sperm whale.

The final result, as described by the authors, is a unisex, but fairly sharp scent, rather male in character. The combination of wood and pepper reflects the age of the Warsaw University of Technology, brings to mind its old wooden halls, says Agnieszka Cieslicka.

The rose-coloured fragrance is offered in a stylish black bottle, decorated with chemical formulas. The first 100 bottles have already been produced, but they will not be sold in any shops. They will be gifts for the university’s special guests. (kk/jb)
