According to a survey by TNS OBOP, 36 percent of Poles say PM Donald Tusk should not run for the office.
Thirty one percent of the respondents said the prime minister should quit his political activity altogether. 34% declare they trust the current Prime Minister (1% down since December), while 58% declare they do not trust Donald Tusk (1% up since December). 67% percent say they do not trust his cabinet.
The survey was conducted via telephone on the 20th and 21st of January on 1000 randomly chosen Poles.
In 2005, Donald Tusk lost the presidential race to Lech Kaczynski. Speaking on Polish Radio Three this morning, Paweł Wypych of the current president Lech Kaczynski's chancellery says Tusk is a "slave to opinion polls", meaning he is not directed by the good of the country, but by his own publicity ratings:
'It's evident that he really likes opinion polls and on every issue he tries to take the most popular decision. But there is only one opinion poll that shows the truth and that is the presidential vote on the election day,' said Wypych. (jn)
