Over a hundred policemen from the western city of Zielona Gora are looking for a man linked to several sexual assaults.
The rapist, described as a thin, young man, is believed to have assaulted seven women and raped two in Zielona Gora and the neigbouring town of Lubsko.
The offender has a sexual preference for young women. The age of his victims ranges from 16 to 32. The man strikes at different hours, after prowling victims’ neighbourhoods.
Investigators have established that the rapist assaults women with a sharp tool and usually attacks them while they are leaving their homes.
Since mid January, when the brutal assaults on women started, the western city of Zielona Gora has been paralyzed by fear. Its female citizens are afraid of going out after dark, using public transport and are buying tasers and pepper gas to protect themselves from the debaucher.
In order to save their daughters and sisters, male citizens of Zielona Gora have formed civil patrols to chase the rapist.
Police have offered a 730 euro reward and the mayor of Zielona Gora 5,000 euro for identifying the suspect responsible for the crimes. The task is serious as the man may soon be back on the prowl, claim police. (mg/jb)
