Poland’s Great Orchestra of Christmas Aid (WOŚP) previous records years by raising exactly 42,877,958 zloty in its latest fundraiser at the beginning of 2010.

Such a sum, around 10.8 million euro, is a record for the charity organisation, which ran its 18th fund raising drive this year. Last year’s sum was almost 3 million zlty less, at 40.5 million.

For the past two years, WOŚP has been collecting money for children with cancer, and was helped by 120,000 volunteers across the globe. (jb)
