Three quarters of Poles confess their sins to priests at least once a year and the number has not changed since 1998, claims a new report.
Long queues for confessionals before Easter are a part of Polish religious tradition. In 2009, one third of Poles went to church to confess their sins before the religious holiday, shows a report by the Stefan Wyszynski University.
According to the report, women confess more often than men - 80 and 67 percent – respectively - inhabitants of villages more often than inhabitants of cities (85 to 62 percent) and older people between 50 and 64 years old more often than young people between 25 and 34 years old (77 to 65 percent).
