The publisher of a controversial biography about Lech Walesa has violated the former president’s daughter’s personal interest, a court in the southern city of Krakow has ruled.

Anna Dominska, Lech Walesa’s daughter, accused Arcana Publishing House that the biography by Pawel Zyzak contains “invective and lies” about the former president and Solidarity leader. Dominska was offended by Zyzak’s suggestion that Walesa was a communist Security Services agent and that he is “intellectually impoverished”.

Dominska demanded an apology from the historian and 20,000 zloty (5,100 euro) in damages.

"We will certainly lodge an appeal,” announced Zuzanna Dawidowicz, Arcana’s president. (mg)
