• Man detained for setting policemen on fire

A man from the village of Komorze, western Poland, has been detained after he set fire to two policemen.

 

The policemen were assisting a bailiff who was charged with undertaking a court order in the village, near Jarocin.

 

Deputy Inspector Andrzej Borowiak from the Regional Police Headquarters in Poznan told Polish Radio Tuesday morning that one of the policemen gained burns to the arm, the other received burns to the head.

 

The incident occured when upon seeing the policemen and bailiff entering his property, and hearing why they were there, the man suddenly poured inflammable liquids over the policemen and set fire to them. They are currently under medical supervision.

 

The man has since been detained and is awaiting charges in nearby Jarocin. (jb)
