Seriously ill Jadwiga Kaczynska, mother of Lech and Jaroslaw Kaczynski has not yet been informed about her son’s death. 

“Jadwiga keeps asking where Lech is,” says Law and Justice MEP and close friend of the late president, Adam Bielan.

Doctors from the Defence Ministry’s Central Clinical Hospital in Warsaw, where Jadwiga Kaczynska is hospitalized, advised not to tell the president’s mother about his death because it could have a serious impact on her health. Jadwiga Kaczynska is suffering from a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is unable to breath on her own. 

Before the presidential plane’s crash Lech and Jaroslaw Kaczynski took turns at their mother’s sick bed. Initially, Jaroslaw, head of the Law and Justice party, was to participate in the Katyn celebrations and travel on board of the presidential plane which crashed, but he decided to stay in order to take care of Jadwiga Kaczynska.

Now, Jaroslaw Kaczynski visits his ill mother everyday alone, but has yet been unable to share tragic news with his mother. (mg/pg)
