Twenty-one victims of the plane crash in Smolensk will be laid to rest in their home towns today.
Among those who will be buried are Wladyslaw Stasiak from the Chancellery of the President, Ombudsman Janusz Kochanowski and deputy speakers parliament Jerzy Szmajdzinski and Krzysztof Putra.
Wladyslaw Stasiak will be laid to rest at the Powazki military cemetery in Warsaw. Deputy speaker of parliament Jerzy Szmajdzinski will also be buried in Warsaw but at a cemetery in Wilanow. Ombudsman Kochanowski will be laid to rest in the southern city of Czestochowa, where he was born, and a funeral mass will be said in the Jasna Gora Monastery.
Senator Krzysztof Putra, who leaves behind eight children will be buried in his home city of Bialystok. Acting President Bronislaw Komorowski and the head of the Law and Justice Jaroslaw Kaczynski will participate in the funeral. (mg)
