The remains of the last twenty-one victims of the presidential plane’s crash near Smolensk will return to Poland in the evening.
Among the last identified bodies are the remains of the minister from the Chancellery of the President Mariusz Handzlik, Law and Justice MPs Grazyna Gesicka and Aleksandra Natalli-Swiat, military commanders - Vice Admiral Andrzej Karweta, Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Navy, Gen. Andrzej Blasik, Commander of the Polish Air Force, Division General Wlodzimierz Potasinski, Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Special Forces – and the Tu-154 crew.
Thanks to analysis of documents, personal belongings, visual features and DNA tests morticians in Moscow managed to identify all 96 victims of the crash. “There were no mistakes. We want to express our admiration for Russian experts who worked several hours a day,” said Polish Health Minister Ewa Kopacz.
“Coffins of the last victims will be driven to the airport in Moscow and flown to Warsaw, where they will arrive about 19.00 CET,” said Kopacz. (mg)
