A series of events has been planned this weekend around the country to mark twenty years of celebrating International Earth Day in Poland including recycling workshops and exhibitions on biodiversity.
Poles will also be able to join ecological activists in their efforts to clean up local lakes and rivers.
The finale will take place on Sunday in Warsaw’s Pole Mokotowskie Park when visitors will be able to learn more about recycling and the country’s National Parks, participate in ecological competitions as well as exchange used batteries and electronic appliances for ecological bags or seedlings.
Danuta Isler talked to Mira Stanisławska-Meysztowicz, the chairwoman of "Our Earth" Foundation (Fundacja "Nasza Ziemia") about the ecological awareness of Poles and challanges connected with the environment protection in this country. (di)
