Though there is still a cold nip in the air, naturists are gearing up for Poland’s first nude-only disco party in Lodz.

The clothes-free disco will be the key attraction of the VI Naturists Night, to be held in the municipal Fala aqua park on May 8.

A section of the park will be allocated for dancing and a booth will be created for DJs, at a safe distance from the pool. The organizers have not revealed whether slow or fast music will predominate. They stress, however, that it must be wholly innocent, without amorous connotations. “The absence of erotic undertones is one of the fundamental principles of naturism,” says Piotr Szymczak, a naturist from Lodz.

The nudes-only disco party  - where the only dress code is that there is no dress - is open to adults. Youths over sixteen are welcome in the company of parents. Participants are expected to come in couples and singles need to be invited by a couple. This is to prevent gate-crashers looking for sensation and ill-conceived excitement, say the organisers.

It is not clear exactly how many naturists live in the Lodz province but their annual Nude Nights attract between 300 to 400 of Poland’s sartorially challenged. (kk/pg)
