Jaroslaw Kaczynski
Leader of Law and Justice and candidate for president Jarosław Kaczyński puts forward his election programme on Saturday afternoon in the mountain resort of Zakopane.
This is to be the same speech planned for last week’s Law and Justice convention in Warsaw, abandoned because of the flood. In Zakopane, Jarosław Kaczyński is to present his vision of Poland.
On Friday evening, the Law and Justice chief gave an interview to public television TVP1, saying that Poles should take advantage of the “solidarity potential” revealed in the society after the Smolensk crash.
Jarosław Kaczyński said he wanted to be president to end the “Polish-Polish war” which would also help Poland bring its economy to the level of western countries by 2020. He also did not exclude cooperation with Donald Tusk as Prime Minister.
Speaking on the investigation into the crash, which killed his twin brother, Polish President Lech Kaczyński and 95 others, Jarosław Kaczyński said he believed it should be handed over from Russia to Poland and that Polish authorities should request it considering the extent of the tragedy. It would be a test of credibility for both sides, he said. He added that the sessions of the National Security Council led him to believe that we have small knowledge of the causes of the disaster.
