Many people in Lanckorona, a small village not far from Krakow, southern Poland lost everything during the floods: houses, family heirlooms, often hope. We can help them!
Their tragedy was unique during the weeks of floods in Poland as their small, wooden built houses suffered subsidence, and many locals watched their homes, literally, slipping down a mountain.
Over 70 homes were destroyed and hundreds were left without a roof over their heads.

To get to know more about Lanckorona and its residents, keep listening to Polish Radio’s English language broadcasts. In March this year, before disaster struck, our reporter John Beauchamp visited the town as part of his series: Galician Almanac.
Polish Radio will be returning to Lanckorona to see how people are putting their lives back together and how the village is using the aid you donate.
