A special Gala honoring Poles who do voluntary work is taking place in the Belvedere Palace in Warsaw tonight.

During the gala three Poles will be presented with special distinctions granted by the Presidential Chancellery.

The event will also see the finale of a competition called “The colors of voluntary work” organized by the Network of the Centers of Voluntary Work in Poland.

Since the beginning of his term the late president Lech Kaczynski had had an honorary patronage over the program which promotes active attitudes among citizens, interpersonal bonds between them along with the necessity to provide help to those in need.  (di)
