Over 220,000 downloads were noted after the transcripts from the Tu-154, which crashed tragically on April 10, were released to the public yesterday on the website of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“We bolstered the servers in such a way that anyone who was interested in reading the transcript could do so, either on our page or as a download,” Malgorzata Wozniak, a ministry spokesperson told media, Tuesday.
According to the ministry source, the webpage usually receives 40,000 visits a day. “From the moment when the transcripts were made available, that number rocketed to 220,000,” Wozniak said.
The transcripts were put up on the website around 1500, Monday, after a meeting of the National Security Council which made the decision for the transcripts to go public.
The document contains 40 pages and is a transcript of one of the black boxes from the Tu-154, the MARS-BM sound recorder. (jb)
