Many areas of southern and central Poland are battling against the continuing high water.
In Sandomierz, south-east Poland, the River Vistula broke through flood defences that had been erected after the first wave of floods two weeks ago.
Many areas of city are again under water, with evacuations being announced over loudspeakers. Many residents who had come back to their homes after the first wave of floods are refusing to leave their homes.
The Sandomierz glass factory has also been inundated for the seond time, bringing production to a standstill.
Flood barriers also collapsed in Kepa Gostecka in the easteren Lublin province. Two districts have been flooded as a result, with 300 people evacuated from Wilkow and Laziska.
Flood dykes are being reinforced in Kepa Solecka and Parchatka, near the town of Kazimerz Dolny.
The south-eastern province of Podkarpacie is also fighting against the floods, where the Ropa and Wisloka tributaries of the Vistula have flooded the town of Jaslo.
Further west, in the province of Malopolska, the flood levels of the Vistula are slowly diminishing. The province’s capital, Krakow, called off the flood alarm but is still remains on high-water alert.
Parts of Warsaw are coping with floods from the Vistula, which damaged a dyke in the north-eastern district of Bialoleka. The culmination wave is expected to arrive in the capital on Tuesday with a predicted height of 760 cm.
Weather reports say that no significant rainfall is expected during the weekend, but warn of violent thunderstorms across Poland from the beginning of the week. (jb)
