• Kaczynski eats into Komorowski poll lead
  • 07.06.2010

Jaroslaw Kaczynski has made inroads into Bronislaw Komorowski’s lead in the opinion polls.

Kaczynski has increased his support by five points to 38 percent, but still trails his rival, Komorowski, by 12 percent, according to a survey by PBS/DGA.

The poll was taken from a sample of 1,000.

Meanwhile, with less than two weeks before polling day on June 20, another survey by SMG/KRC also records a slippage of support for Komorowski, who has been acting president since the death of Lech Kaczynski in the April 10 Smolensk air disaster. Komorowski is on 42 percent, with Kaczynski on 32 percent.

All the other candidates are continuing to receive under ten percent support, according to polls. Candidates must score over 50 percent in the first round, Sunday week - if not a second round head-to-head of the top too candidates will be commenced on July 4. (pg)
