• Explosion at Warsaw military academy injures two

Two people have been injured as a result of an explosion at the Military University of Technology in Warsaw during an explosives lesson. 

 

“The blast happened at 8.45 CET during a class on explosives,” Jerzy Markowski, spokesman from the Military University of Technology confirmed to the TVN 24 news channel. 

 

A student and a lecturer who were injured as a result of the explosion were taken to hospital. They are conscious but it has not been revealed whether their injuries are life threatening. The main building has remained intact as the class was being run in a concrete bunker.  

 

A special commission is investigating the cause of the accident. (mg)
