Warsaw police have found 2.5-million-euro worth drugs in the flat of a 36-year-old member of an organized crime group.

“Policemen seized two guns, ammunition, over 20 kilograms of pure heroine, 1.5 kilogram of cocaine, 0.5 kilogram of amphetamine and cannabis. The drugs are worth about 10 million zloty [2.5 million euro],” says Maciej Karczynski from the Warsaw Police Headquarters.

Five ‘wanted’ notices and a European Arrest Warrant had been issued for Tomasz K. who had been using a falsified ID. “In 2005, Tomasz K. left prison after serving a sentence for assault. He was a member of an organized crime group which specialized in large-scale drug trafficking, assaults and frauds,” said Karczynski.

Police have also detained 46-year-old Tomasz Z., the criminals accomplice who helped him hide. Tomasz K. may face up to 12 years in prison. (mg)
