Election officials say that voting has proceeded orderly and with few breaks in electoral law in the second round of Poland’s presidential elections.
The most serious incident occurred in a polling station at Warsaw University of Technology, where the room was sprayed with pepper gas. After ventilation, the committee officials returned to work after 20 minutes. It was decided not to extend voting time because of the incident.
Voting was disturbed at a polling station in the south western city of Wroclaw when a group of masked men, burst in shouting vulgar abuse in the direction of one of the candidates. Police are investigating the incident. (pg)
