Right-wing Law and Justice may count on 20-percent support in the parliamentary elections, shows a survey by pollster GfK Polonia for the daily Rzeczpospolita.

Jaroslaw Kaczynski’s opposition party is, however, eight percentage points behind the ruling Civic Platform.

The recent presidential elections have further polarized the Polish political scene, as the two top parties have secured the support of 88 percent of the voters. The main rival parties are followed by the Democratic Left Alliance, with 9 percent of the respondents backing the party, while the Polish Peasants’ Party has garnered 1-percent support.

The survey was conducted from 8-12 July on a sample of 985 adult Polish citizens. (aba/mmj)
