The Institute of Forensic Research in Krakow has deciphered new fragments of conversations recorded by the black boxes of the Tupolev plane which crashed in Smolensk on 10 April.

Experts have informed Prosecutor General Andrzej Seremet about the progress of work at the institute, says the official’s spokesperson, Mateusz Martyniuk.

"Prosecutor General Andrzej Seremet has talked to the representatives of the Forensic Institute in Krakow. Experts working on the case have managed to make out several new words previously indecipherable by the Russian team of experts. It is undeniably a step forward. According to information acquired by Seremet, the survey report will be completed by the end of September, or early October at the latest, allowing the public to become acquainted with the results," says Martyniuk.

There are many words on the recording that as yet remain indistinct, Martyniuk added.

The black box recordings were first examined by experts in Russia, where an investigation into the plane crash is still underway.
