• Kaczynski to give evidence in Smolensk investigation
  • 27.07.2010

Former prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski will give evidence, Tuesday morning, to military investigators looking into the causes of Smolensk disaster which killed his twin brother Lech and 95 others.

Kaczynski, leader of the Law and Justice party, will be at the Chief Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw at 10 am this morning.

Lawyer Rafal Rogalski, who is representing some of the families who lost loved ones in the tragedy of April 10, including Kaczynski himself, says that his client's testimony may be relevant when examining the causes of the plane crash.

Rogalski says Kaczynski will describe events leading up to Lech Kaczynski boarding the plane on that fateful Saturday morning and what he saw at the scene of the plane crash near Smolensk military airport when he went to identify his brother’s body. (pg)
