A 27-year-old resident of Puck, northern Poland, has been found on a beach after he was beaten up and left for dead in nearby Wladyslawowo, a popular tourist destination on the Baltic coast.

Witnesses alerted police to the event on Sunday morning, after which the emergency services arrived at a stretch of beach between Wladyslawowo and Chalupy to try and reanimate the man, without success, however.

Media reports state that local prosecutors are looking into the case, and a few people have been taken in for questioning.

The man’s identity has been determined, with the body expected to undergo forensic investigation as to the exact cause of death. (jb)
