The case of the six year-old boy who had to have an emergency liver transplant has brought attention to the shortage of donor organs in Poland.
After eating poisoned mushrooms last weekend, Tomek had to have a liver transplant on Tuesday. Doctors have gradually started to bring him out of an induced coma and say his new liver is beginning to function.
But Tomek was lucky - many in Poland who need organ transplants do not receive them. But why? Magda Jensen reports.
