Scouts celebrate 100 years anniversary in Krakow. photo - John Beauchamp

Poland’s president, Bronislaw Komorowski was in Krakow, Sunday, to mark the 100th anniversary of the scouting movement in Poland.

 

The ceremonies started with a mass at the citys Royal Castle Hill. Then the president decorated a group of scouts with the Order of Reborn Poland for their outstanding services to the development of the movement among Polish youth.

 

Bronislaw Komorowski also met with some 8,000 participants of the week long centennial festivities at the scouts tent city put up in Blonie Park to answer questions concerning the future of the organization and present day activities in the context of latest developments in Polish public life.

 

President Komorowski is a former scout himself. He has also been asked to assume honorary patronage over the Polish Scouting Association (ZHP). (ss)
