A 41-year-old man has been killed when his car hit an moose after it ran into the road.
The accident happened in the late hours of Monday night on a stretch of road running through a wooded area not far from Kozienice, central Poland.
The driver, a resident of eastern city of Lublin, lost control of his car after it collided with the big animal, hit a tree and was killed on the spot. (ek)
Correction – this report originally stated that the animals involved was an elk…this was incorrect: it was a moose - otherwise known as a European or Eurasion elk.
