Ten million illegal cigarettes have been seized by officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation near Wroclaw, southwest Poland.

Sixteen people have been detained, believed to be part of an international criminal gang involved in illicit cigarette sales worth around 1 million euro, said a police spokesman.

The detained men include Belarusians, Russians and as well as Poles aged 20 to 40 years. (pg)
