Police from the Central Investigation Bureau have arrested an illegal Vietnamese immigrant for growing over 400 marijuana plants in the northern town of Slupsk.
Police spokesman, Karol Jakubowski told journalists, Wednesday, that the imigrant became the subject of a long-term sting operation after police were tipped off about the Vietnamese man’s agricultural pursuits.
“[Police] found around 400 cannabis plants at various stages of growth as well as dried derivative products ready for distribution worth around 30,000 zloty (7,500 euro),” informed Jakubowski.
After the arrest, it transpired that the Vietnamese man is also does not have right to remain in Poland. If sentenced, the man may serve a prison sentence of up to 8 years.
In June, 12 Vietnamese citizens who were part of a drugs gang were caught growing illegal marijuana plants. Police then destroyed 6 cannabis plantations. (jb)
