The Justice Ministry estimates at half a million the number of online registered and reviewed court cases in Poland this year.
Minister Krzysztof Kwiatkowski has said that more than 300 thousand e-cases have been filed already, something not many had expected.
“We speculated that some 100 thousand people would take advantage of this solution, as altogether Polish courts reviewed 1.2 million cases last year. It turns out that almost half that number will be referred to e-courts this year.”
This novel way of seeking court arbitration has been introduced in Poland on January 1st , this year. Fees for online reviewed cases are three times lower than for traditional court room proceedings.
The latter form of passing legal judgment will also have its duration shortened soon. The Justice Ministry is introducing a new way of electronic registration of court room testimony. Another novelty is the freshly adopted e-system of mortgage register access. (ss)
