A cornerstone was laid, Tuesday, to a museum dedicated to John Paul II at his home town of Wadowice, not far from Krakow, southern Poland.

The stone was ceremoniously laid by Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, JP II’s longtime aid who was present when the Polish Pope passed away in 2005.

The museum, based at the house where Karol Wojtyla grew up, will be on four levels - necessitating two extra stories to built on top of the existing structure.

Exhibits will be arranged chronologically and thematically, say the museum curators and should be open in 2012. (pg)
