Police say they have found human remains in a reservoir in southern Poland where they suspect the murderer of former transport minister Eugeniusz Wrobel threw his body into.

Police spokesman in Rybnik, Silesia, Ryszard Czepczor said parts of a body were spotted by officers in an area not yet searched in the Rybnik reservoir, about three metres from shore in shallow water.

Reports suggest that the body had been dismembered and cut into four pieces.

Police were searching the reservoir after prosecutors claim Eugeniusz Wrobel’s 30 year-old son, Grzegorz confessed to murdering his father last Friday.

A forensic team has now taken DNA samples from the body parts to determine their identity. (pg)
