Over 300 students and teachers have been evacuated from a secondary school in Sianow near Koszalin, north west Poland.

Thirteen fire brigade teams are trying to put out fire which broke out at 8.00 CET in the school’s attic and quickly spread to other rooms.

“The operation will probably last several hours,” says Piotr Skrzypinski from Koszalin Fire Station told reporters, adding that firemen have already evacuated 325 students and teachers and are trying to rescue school equipment.

A special commission will investigate the cause of the fire. (mg)
