Ryszard C. being taken into custody. Photo: PAP/Rafał GołyRyszard C., the taxi driver who shot dead a political assistant and stabbed another last week has undergone psychiatric tests to reveal whether he was of able in mind while committing murder.
Two psychiatrists examined Ryszard C. who is in custody in the central town of Piotrkow Trybunalski.
“Next week, we will find out what the results of the examination are and whether the psychiatrists managed to assess Ryszard C.’s mental abilities,” says Krzysztof Kopania from the Prosecutor’s Office in Lodz.
The court in Lodz has already appointed a defender for Ryszard C. but his name has not been revealed yet. The Prosecutor’s Office said that the infamous killer’s hit list will be analyzed by a graphologist to establish whether it was written by Ryszard C.
Sixty two year-old Ryszard C. has been accused of murder and attempted murder. The investigators believe that the taxi driver attacked his victims, both employees of the Law and Justice party, for political reasons.
The man has pleaded guilty but refused to explain his motivation. Ryszard C. may face life imprisonment. (mg)
