Did the murderer of a political assistant in Lodz, last Tuesday, earlier visit the office of a prominent member of the Polish government with the intention of killing him, too?
Ryszard C., the taxi driver who shot dead a Law and Justice party political assistant and stabbed another last week, visited the Lodz office of Deputy Speaker Stefan Niesiolowski, a member of the ruling Civic Platform party, just a couple of hours before the murder last Tuesday, which sent shockwaves through Poland’s body politic .
“He asked the whereabouts of Stefan Niesiolowski and when he found that the Deputy Speaker was away and that the office was closed, he asked where the Law and Justice headquarters were and left,” Aleksandra Woron from Niesiolowski’s office told the PAP news agency.
Later, Ryszard C. went to the Law and Justice office and murdered the political assistant around 11.00 CET.
It has been previously reported, however, that the 62 year-old killer had a vendetta against Law and Justice politicians, not those from the ruling Civic Platform. It was reported by witnesses that when Ryszard C. burst into the Law and Justice HQ in Lodz he was shouting “Kill Kaczynski”, the party’s leader. (mg/pg)
