Leftist politicians have been busy carefully taking down insults traded by the ruling Civic Platform (PO) and the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) and are going to publish them all in a special ‘White Book’.
“We are listing examples of aggressive remarks made by politicians since 2005, when the right took over power in Poland,” spokesman for the Democratic Left Alliance Tomasz Kalita told Newsweek Polska.
The party’s team for combating hatred promises to inform the public about the results of its work by the end of this week.
The move follows the murder of a Law and Justice party worker in Lodz, two weeks ago, which leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski put down to the “campaign of hate” which he sees as being directed at him and his party.
Alongside facts about insults used, the White Book of Aggression is to comprise a linguistic and psychological analysis, pinpointing those guilty of introducing a growing amount of abuse into Poland’s political life.
The Left hopes to prove that parties on the right are hurling insults at one another mainly due to personal animosities rather than devotion to different ideas. (kk)
