• Opposition face meltdown in local elections?
  • 15.11.2010
In local election this Sunday the opposition Law and Justice party look set to lose around half their support compared to the last ballot in 2006.

According to the PBS DGA pollsters, Civic Platform will win 20 city councils with Law and Justice only being in control of Radom.

In Warsaw, Law and Justice’s support will plummet on Sunday from 29 percent in 2006 to 15 percent. In Krakow, their vote share will fall from 28 to 15 percent and in Gdansk from 28 to 14 percent.

Civic Platform will be the main beneficiary of Law and Justice’s drop in support and will take nine of Poland’s ten largest cities.

The survey was conducted over the telephone between 3 and 10 November from a representative sample of 13,000 people in 23 cities. (pg)
