Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska, head of the newly formed Poland is Most Important political grouping (PJN), calls for an of verbal attacks on the association by the leader of the Law and Justice (PiS) party.

In an open letter released by daily Rzeczpospolita, the chief of PJN appealed to Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński to focus his criticism on the “weak and indolent government of the Civic Platform,” instead of the new breakaway grouping.

The political parting of Law and Justice and its more liberal faction does not have to entail war, claims the author of the letter, requesting Kaczyński to put an end to his “malicious statements and needless warlike rhetoric.”

Kluzik-Rostkowska added that their main focus of dispute and criticism should shift to the ruling party. The atmosphere of conflict is detrimental to strengthening the opposition, which only serves to steer the attention of public opinion away from the lack of achievements of the government, claims the official.

”I am sending this letter with the hope that the Polish matters, the country’s role in Europe and the world are far more important that discrediting political opponents,” concluded Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska. (aba)
