One in three Poles (32 percent) believe that the threat of terrorism is real in Poland. Thirty percent think that the threat to Poland is being exaggerated, while one in four believes that it does not exist at all, according to a survey just released by the CBOS public opinion research centre.
The sense of being threatened by terrorism grows immediately after terrorist attacks occur around the world, which are given broad media coverage, says CBOS.
Today the perceived threat is much lower than immediately after attacks in New York, Moscow, Madrid or London.
The majority of the people polled (72 percent) say they are personally not afraid of a terrorist attack. Twenty five percent of Poles say they are afraid and six percent indicate that they are deeply scared.
