The Civic Platform cabinet has more adherents than opponents, but support for the government is declining, shows a newly released poll by CBOS.

As many as 38 percent of Poles support the Civic Platform government, 30 percent oppose it and 27 percent are indifferent, shows the survey.

According to the CBOS pollsters, support for the government has declined by 3 percentage points since December while the number of those who criticise the cabinet has risen by 4 percentage points.

The poll reveals that as many as 44 percent of respondents are satisfied that Donald Tusk is the prime minister, which is 4 percentage points less than in December, and 40 percent are not.

Over 50 percent of Poles think that Civic Platform government will not improve the economic situation in Poland and only 33 percent believe that economic policies adopted by the cabinet can be successful.

The survey was conducted on 5-12 January 2011 among a representative selection of 989 people. (mg/jb)
