President of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy is in Warsaw, Tuesday, and is to meet President Bronislaw Komorowski as well as Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The meeting comes after Prime Minister was in Brussels last week at an EU summit dedicated to ongoing unrest in Libya as well as a new competition pact which aims to revitalise the bloc’s economy.

Europe Minister Mikolaj Dowgielewicz has said that the meetings’ agendas will concern current issues, including Poland’s taking over of the EU presidency later on this year.

“The visit, first and foremost, is for the preparation of the upcoming European Council,” Dowigielewicz said, adding that “Prime Minister Tusk is also in touch with van Rompuy about the EU’s neighbourhood and upcoming presidency.” (jb)
