• George Harrison Lane in Warsaw?
  • 12.05.2011

A group of Polish musicians and journalists, including members of the Perfekt pop group and popular broadcaster Marek Niedzwiedzki, have come up with the idea of naming a lane running across the Agrykola Park after George Harrison.

Councillors from the sub-commission for street names in the City Council have given their go-ahead and the final decision is expected to be taken by the Council at its plenary session on 26 May.

Time is running short as the idea is for Ringo Starr to be present at the official ceremony of inaugurating the George Harrison Lake, named after the late Beatles guitarist.

Ringo's gig in Warsaw is scheduled for 15 June. (mk)
